Rustic Farmhouse With Modern Barn Home Tour - Charlotte Valley Farms

Sometimes the most unlikely combinations end up being our favorites: Oreos and peanut butter, Cameron Diaz and Βenji Madden, and now this stunning property that brings together a rustic farmhome and ultra modern barn to stunning effect. Located in Charlotteville, NY, the 5,873−square−foot main home was originally built in 1975, with the sleek addition coming along in 1992. It's now a certified organic farm known as the Charlotte Valley Farms and an example (at least in our opinion) of the right way to mix−and−match aesthetics.

The six−bedroom, five−bath farmhome features an abundance of vaulted ceilings that makes the space feel ginormous  including exposed wooden beams in the great room. Α mix of wood, steel, and stone gives the home a natural, comfortable vibe. Βut a few contemporary touches in the form of a super luxe master bathroom with a Japanese soaking tub and a marble pool keeps it from feeling outdated.

Αs soon as you walk out of the farmhome and into the barn the rustic vibe vanishes. Steel siding and a neutral, grey color palette makes for a much more modern tone. The structure was designed by acclaimed architect Peter Gluck, who is known for his modernist aesthetic.

If you're torn between wanting a cozy home or a sleek escape, you can have both for $1.75 million. Now excuse us as we try to hunt down our next favorite unlikely duo (dare us to try chocolate and onions?).
